With the opposition not ready to start until 6.45pm, London Fields won the toss and batted in glorious evening sunshine. Things started badly when Robin Friend edged behind 1st ball of the innings. Paul Teasdale and Will Isaac then set about a great counter attack, Teasdale playing some delightful shots on the way to a quick 50 with Will playing a mature anchor role. Yes, Will, mature, anchor. I know.
A few small contributions were chipped in down the order but Teasdale's 52* and Will's 47 were the highlights, along with the verbals from some lairy ringers in the Cally Conquerors side, in a final total of 147.
We then bowled. Chris and Ben were wayward and expensive. Taz and Dave Krohn were excellent. Shannon and Teasdale backed up with some solid support, Teasdale adding a wicket to his 50. They needed 8 off the last over bowled by Chris.
With 6 needed off the last 3 balls, a shot into the covers took an incredible freak bobble in the fading light, lifting clear over Dave K's head and going for four. They hit the winning run off the last ball. It wasn't our day.
