London Fields CC is a community-focused club cricket club which draws its membership from the local community in and around London Fields and Victoria Park.
We play most Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer: On Saturdays we compete in the North East London Cricket League, while on Sundays we play friendly matches at home and away, visiting clubs in Essex, Surrey and Sussex. We sometimes host sides from abroad - particularly our Belgian friends from Mechelen and our Slovenian friends from Ljubljana. On our travels we have played in Belgium, Estonia and Slovenia. This year we travel to Croatia in September.
League matches are 36 overs a side, with up to 6 overs per bowler. In friendlies we also play longer and shorter matches, and even timed games (more tea, vicar?).
We have a wide mix of players, ranging in ability from the very experienced to those just taking up the game for the first time.
The Pub On The Park is very much the focus of the team, both during and outside the season, and the pitch is unique in Hackney for its setting (surrounded by London Plane trees on the boundary) and the number of people watching the game at any time (the park gets very crowded on hot days, and the London Fields Lido has just re-opened).

We play cricket every weekend throughout the summer. On Saturdays we compete in the North East London Cricket League and on Sundays we generally play friendly matches. Since 2006 we have also played midweek cricket in the Victoria Park Community Cricket League.
If you ever fancy popping down to watch a match, League games usually start at 2pm and friendly games at 1pm.
Our home pitch on London Fields has hosted cricket for over 200 years. Thanks to Hackney Council and their staff the pitch just gets better and better to play on. We are affiliated to Pub On The Park which is well worth visiting for a pint during/after a match.
As a pub team we like our beer. Quite a lot. Though obviously there's no pre-requisite to drink after every game. We've had half-drinkers and even teetotallers in the team in the past.
Every August/September we go on our European Tour. In the past we have visited Belgium to play Mechelen CC and more recently Ljubljana CC in Slovenia. In 2009 we hit the Baltics for the first time, playing 3 matches in Tallinn, Estonia. In 2011 we head to Croatia to play on the island of Vis and the city of Split.
Each trip has brought back many sore heads, silly stories (many of which can never be published on a website) and even a team mascot.
